Tid Bits

Life has kept me occupied, what can I say.

But here are a few tidbits to keep you busy.

The Fires

• First and foremost, my thoughts sent out to those affected.

• When are humans gonna stop developing in high risk areas that were never meant to contain a massive population of homes?

• When are Republicans in San Diego gonna stop voting down all measures to increase taxes to build up their civil services?

• When is San Diego county going to create a COUNTY Fire Department like every other civilized county in the state?

• When are home owners going stop saying that they only had "4 minutes" to evacuate when they are interviewed in tears by the local media? Bullshit, you were given time. I don't even LIVE near you and I know when evacuation orders were given. Whether or not you took those evacuation orders seriously is up to you. And thanks to these 'brave' homeowners that stood behind to defend their homes, fire fighters in San Diego's primary job became of evacuation, instead of actual fire fighting. Good job brave citizens.

And on a funny note, during live coverage of the fire that ripped through Canyon Country, there was a corral of about 40 horses that were let out to essentially save their own lives. The 40 horses all left the pen single file, in orderly fashion, led by one lead horse, who led the pack safely away from the flames. Apparently, according to horse experts, the 40 of them will survive, and will return to their pen once trouble has subsided.

Can you imagine if this would've been 40 humans? When they were let out, 15 of them would've fled in the wrong direction and burned themselves to death, 5 of them would have trampled over 5 other people, 10 people would've ran into each other....

You get my point.

The World Series

• The 'break' was not what caused Colorado to suck. They sucked all year long, they got hot when the moment was right, and then ran into a far superior team during the post season. So, please stop using the "it was the long break" excuse, and give credit where credit was due.

The Boston Red Sox were a far superior team.

• And on a funny side note, if someone is standing in line and trying extremely hard to get World Series tickets, and don't, you'd think that person would spend the next 2 weeks glued to their TV set watching the games instead, not missing one pitch. I'd feel bad knowing that if I attended 2 games through the year, and I don't even know the pitching rotation staff, I'm taking a seat away from a die hard fan, who because of various reasons, could not spend 2 hours in front of a ticket booth, or a computer hoping to get tickets.

Some Rockies fans who were Gung Ho about getting Word Series tickets probably don't even know the series is over.

And they say LA has weird fans...

My Birthday

My birthday was yesterday. To those that remembered, I'm glad you are using technology to remind you of my b-day.

To those that didn't, eh. I probably forgot yours too, so we're even. ;-)
